Manchester United are reportedly considering making a surprise decision regarding Mason Greenwood.

According to the Daily Mail, the Red Devils are seriously pondering sending the 21-year-old marksman away on a season-long loan as they continue to probe into the allegations that saw the forward being arrested for attempted rape, controlling and coercive behaviour, and assault last year.
Those charges were dropped in February, but the club is still conducting an investigation of their own into the matter in an effort to adjudge whether or not the suspended striker should be brought back into the first-team squad.
While that is happening, it seems the record Premier League champions are strongly considering sending the England international away on loan, either to Turkey, Spain or Italy.
The same report claims that the club feels this will help them gauge whether or not Greenwood is physically and mentally for football in England's top flight again, as well as measure the public's perception of the forward amid the controversy.
It seems unlikely the young star will go out on loan to another Premier League side, and while the Red Devils are rumoured to have received offers from Turkey's Super Lig, the forward is said to want to play at a higher level, potentially leaving Spain and Italy as the only viable options currently.

Given Erik ten Hag's recent comments about the Englishman, it seems the United boss may be eager to work with the striker, but the three-time UEFA Champions League winners are believed to be apprehensive of the views their teams, both the men's and the women's sides, hold regarding reintegrating Greenwood back into the fold.
