Manchester City have reportedly identified a replacement for Rodri, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
The Spanish midfielder will play no further part of the 2024/25 season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury this week.
The next transfer window opens in January and there have been reports that the Citizens could dip in to the market for a replacement.

According to InterLive, the Citizens could look to make a move for Inter Milan star Hakan Calhanoglu.
City manager Pep Guardiola had already got a glimpse of the Turkey international, who featured for Inter in the goalless draw against City last week.
The report adds that the 30-year-old would be tempted by a switch to the Premier League champions, but City would not splash the cash.
Guardiola did speak about Rodri's importance to the team and not having another player to replace him in the squad.
"Next season he will be here. This season is over. It is what it is at that level. We are here to support him. Good recovery, step by step and we move forward," Guardiola said, as per talkSPORT.
"What he gives us we don't have a similar player but all the players together can replace what Rodri has or has given us since arriving to us.
"We have to find a way to play a lot of months without an important player for us - everybody knows it. We want a speedy recovery for next season."
