Senegal's national team captain has admitted to finding happiness in his life once again since his departure from Chelsea at the beginning of the season.

Kalidou Koulibaly's arrival at Stamford Bridge ahead of the 2022/23 season was supposed to mark a new era in the London club's history.
The central defender was one of many names that were brought into the club that off-season as the Todd Boehly-led Clearlake Capital consortium spent big to build on the success that Thomas Tuchel had already achieved at the club up until that point.
That was not to be the case for Koulibaly or anybody affiliated with the west Londoners, however, as the club finished in their lowest position in 19 years, ending the campaign 12th place on the log.
This coincided with the Senegal centre-back moving to Saudi Pro League to join Al Hilal before this season began, and while the Blues were able to recoup some of the money they spent on the 32-year-old, it seems it is the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations winner who has profited the most from the move as he claims he is now happy again.
"I have found happiness again on and off the field," the French-born defender told Diario AS.
"At Chelsea, things were not as I expected, I was not used to not playing. When the offer came, I understood that it could be the right decision.
"And it was like this: I am delighted and the championship, with the signings, it is growing. People underestimate the level of the Saudis.

"Many thought that we came here on vacation and they found out that this is not the case. We have 27 consecutive victories and we will not stop until we win titles."
