With it being reported on Friday that Jose Mourinho would be sacked over the weekend no matter what the Red Devils' result against Newcastle United was, the Manchester United boss addressed the rumours after his side's impressive comeback win over the Magpies.

The Portuguese coach had been under a lot of pressure after going four successive games without a win, and with United experiencing their joint-worst start to a Premier League season ever.
On the weekend, it looked like the Red Devils would stumble to another defeat after they went 2-0 down to Newcastle inside 10 minutes, but Mourinho's players rallied and ended up winning 3-2.
A report by the Daily Mirror had suggested that Mourinho would be sacked over the weekend regardless of the Newcastle result, but Mourinho has since dismissed these claims.
"The ones that read the papers, that are connected with social media, they thought maybe I had gone," he said when asked about the rumours, as quoted by Manchester Evening News.
"If I hadn't had an SMS from my board not to read (the papers), I would have been convinced too."
Mourinho also explained how he feels he has become the victim of a "manhunt".
"I am 55 years old and in spite of this first time I see in football a manhunt, I am 55, I am mature, I can cope with it and live with it," he added.
"I think some of the boys, they are not the man that is hunted, I think they are not coping well with it, and the way they start, they were panicking.
"As a friend of mine was saying to me this morning, if tomorrow rains in London, it's my fault. I go to London tonight, if it rains, it's my fault. If there's some difficulty to have agreement of Brexit, it's my fault and I have to be ready for this.
"There's a lot of wickedness and clear manhunting in football is too much. But it's my life that I love and I have worked for this since I was a kid and I will love it until my last day, so it's one more experience in my life."
