Drogba is in his second spell at Chelsea and here are five things you or may have not known about the 36-year-old.
1) Drogba's full name is Tébily Didier Yves Drogba. He is married to Malian woman named Diakité Lalla and they have three children.
2) At the age of 5, Drogba was sent to live with uncle, Michel Goba, in France. He returned to his family in Abidjan three years later after becoming homesick, but moved back to France after both his parents lost their jobs as bank workers.
2) Unlike many other top football players, Drogba never attended a football academy in his youth. He only began training daily once he was a fully grown adult and he signed his first professional contract at the age of 21.
3) Drogba is the all-time top scorer of the Ivory Coast National team (65 goals in 104 caps) and he has scored more goals for Chelsea than any other foreign player (161 goals in 356 games). He also was the first African to score 100 Premier League goals.
4) Drogba signed for Chelsea in 2004 for what was then a club record of £24 million. He became the most expensive Ivorian player in history and helped the club win its first league title in 50 years as well as their first Champions League title.
5) While Drogba has tasted defeat in the African Cup of Nations finals, he has racked up an impressive ten goals in ten finals, winning ten trophies for Chelsea and Galatasaray (4 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, 2 Community Shields, 1 Champions League and 1 Turkish Super Cup).
