Arsenal extended their winless run in the Premier League to three matches after they were held to a 0-0 draw by David Moyes' West Ham United.
Alexis Sanchez had a chance to put Arsenal ahead in the 10th minute with a terrific strike on his stride inside the box but it sailed over the crossbar.
Four minutes later, Marko Arnautovic had goal disallowed for offside after leaping the highest to power through a header.
The Gunners went agonsingly close to breaking the deadlock in the 29th minute when Alex Iwobi struck the post after being gifted space inside the box to turn and shoot.
Arnautovic almost handed West Ham the lead on stroke of half time, but his looping strike found the roof of the net.
The first stanza ended goalless in a half of missed chances.
Arsene Wenger's charges started the second half brightly, as they pressurised the Hammers from the word go.
Mesut Ozil pulled a brilliant incisive move inside the box in the 55th minute to glide past two defenders but could not find the target with a left-footed strike.
The game got stretched after 65 minutes as the Hammers started to make attacks of their own following a good spell of possession from the Gunners in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.
Wenger brought in Danny Welbeck in the 75th minute in place of Iwobi as the Gunners pushed for a winning goal.
Sanchez thought he had found the breakthrough in the 83rd minute after his free-kick sailed over the wall but could not beat goalkeeper Adrian, who produced a great save to deny the Chilean.
Javier Hernandez nearly secured the win for West Ham after his strike hit the crossbar in stoppage time, but the score remained goalless at the full-time whistle.
