Romelu Lukaku netted a second-half hat-trick, as Everton secured a 3-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Monday night.
South African midfielder, Steven Pienaar was left out of the Black Cats squad, as Jan Kirchhoff returned to the midfield.
There was good tempo in the opening exchanges, as both sides carved out good openings for the likes of Jermaine Defoe and Romelu Lukaku.
Everton dominated for most of the second half, with David Moyes' charges happy to soak up the pressure and attack on the counter.
Despite the visitors' dominance, the score remained goalless as the sides entered the halftime break.
Toffees manager, Ronald Koeman opted for a change at the start of the second half, as he introduced Gerard Deulofeu for Ross Barkley.
Everton eventually broke the deadlock in the 59th minute, as Idrissa Gueye's cross found Lukaku, who headed home from six-yards out, 1-0.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 68th minute, as Yannick Bolasie raced to the byline and floated a cross to the far post, where Lukaku was on hand to head home, 2-0.
Lukaku completed his hat-trick two minutes later. The Belgian latched onto a fine pass from Kevin Mirallas, before calmly slotting into the bottom corner.
Moyes made a couple defensive changes for the final 15 minutes, while Everton were quite happy to move the ball around.
The victory moves Everton up third in the Premier League table, while Sunderland remain in 19th spot.
