Date: 26 September 2015
Venue: King Power Stadium
Arsenal proved too strong for Leicester City after a comprehensive 5-2 victory at the King Power Stadium.
The visitors looked a bit threatening from the onset, but it was Leicester City that grabbed an early lead in the 12th minute through a clinical Jamie Vardy effort. The hosts were made to short-live their lead as Theo Walcott slotted the ball into the bottom corner only five minutes later, 1-1.
The Gunners continued to look good, producing some great passing moves. They were finally rewarded for their efforts in the 32nd minute when Alexis Sanchez put them in the lead with a shot from close range.
Leicester City seemed to up the tempo with the half drawing to a close, and Riyad Mahrez came close to levelling matters just before the break, but 2-1 is how the teams went into the break.
Arsene Wenger's charges started the second stanza like a house on fire, putting together some wonderful phases but the home defence was proving difficult to break through. It took Sanchez to step up with a fine effort in the 56th minute, extending Arsenals lead to 3-1.
Three minutes later, Walcott forced a good save in the bottom corner, and a few minutes later Andy King almost pulled one back for the hosts. Walcott was looking lively and had a wonderful effort well saved in the 66th minute, before Aaron Ramsey also had a good shot saved a few moments later.
It took Sanchez once again, the Chilean completing his hat-trick with a lovely effort to make it 4-1. Leicester put numbers into their attack in the closing exchanges and Vardy, together with Mahrez had a couple of chances before Vardy scored his 88th minute effort to make it 4-2.
It was not over yet, as Olivier Giroud had the final say with a stoppage time strike that ensured Arsenal walk away 5-2 victors.
