Result: Burnley 0-0 Arsenal
Date: 02 February 2020
Venue: Turf Moor
Arsenal's stuttering form in the Premier League continued after dropping against Burnley at Turf Moor on Sunday afternoon.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang returned from suspension as Nicolas Pepe dropped to the bench, while Matteo Guendouzi repalced Lucas Torreira in midfield.
Aubameyang should have marked his return with a goal in the 14th minute after being played through on goal by David Luiz' long-ball, but the Gabonese forward fired with only goalkeeper Nick Pope to beat.
After a quiet start to the game, Burnley saw a bit more of the ball but they had to wait until the 36th minute for a meaningful opening when McNeil's cross found Hendrick, who sent his effort just over the crossbar.
Bunrley had a couple more half chances in the latter stages of the first half, while the Gunners looked a shadow of the sides that got off to the lively start.
The Gunners opted for a change at the start of the second half as Toreira made his way onto the pitch, with Bukayo Saka being withdrawn due to an injury.
The change did bring any immediate change for the visitors, who continued to struggle in the final third as Alexandre Lacazette cut a frustrated figure in the attack.
Frustration began to build for the visitors as Aubameyang squandered a golden chance on 75 minutes when he nodded wide of the upright from Lacazette's cross.
Arsenal were nearly made to rue that miss moments later but Jay Rodriguez could only rattle the crossbar from close range, with the ball bouncing on the goal-line.
Neither side were able to find a breakthrough in the latter stages as the points were shared on the day, as Arsenal move up to 10th position.
