Result: Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
Date: 17 April 2018
Venue: Amex Stadium
Brighton and Hove Albion claimed a vital point in their pursuit of survival as they drew 1-1 with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday evening.
The clash got off to a quiet start as both sides looked to find their rhythm in the opening 10 minutes.
Seventeen minutes into the game, Brighton carved out the first chance of the game when Lewis Dunk saw his header saved by Hugo Lloris.
Spurs, meanwhile, were finding it tough to break down the Brighton defence as the likes of Harry Kane and Christian Eriksen were closed down at every opportunity.
The best chance of the half arrived just before the break when Kane teed up Son Heung-min, who saw his low strike brilliantly palmed away by Matt Ryan.
Two minutes into the second half, Spurs broke the deadlock as some good work by Son ended with Kane firing home from 12-yards out.
Brighton were then awarded a penalty moments later, which Pascal Gross converted to bring the home side level.
Chances were hard to come by for both sides as the second half continued and with 15 minutes remaining, Leonard Ulloa was introduced for the home side as they pushed for a winning goal, while Moussa Demebel and Erik Lamela came on for Spurs.
The game opened up in the final 10 minutes with both sides pushing for a winning goal.
However, neither side could carve out another clear-cut opening as the clash ended 1-1.
