Radio pundit and former Premier League striker Stan Collymore claimed Terry and Costa had been involved in a training ground dispute, but Chelsea have strongly denied this.
Collymore, who works as a pundit for talkSPORT, has since apologised for the false news that made waves in the English media on Monday.
Terry and Costa have, however, looked extremely frustrated on the field for the Blues, who have won just one game in their past five league matches.
The Portuguese boss is reportedly in no panic, and has held no special meetings with his players, although, according to the Daily Mail, he has banned banter from the Chelsea dressing room as they need to focus on their game against Maccabi Tel Aviv on Wednesday.
