Speaking in a press conference on Friday, ahead of his team's Premier League fixture at home against Crystal Palace, the Belgian revealed that his star striker is likely to only return to the field after the next international break.
The 23-year-old, who recently penned a new five-year deal at the club, has missed the team's last two games through illness, a 2-1 defeat in the league to Bournemouth and a 3-0 defeat to Everton in the Carabao Cup.
In what has been a difficult start to the campaign, Foster has been Burnley's shining light up until this point, having registered five goal contributions in eight matches across all competitions.
The South African committed to new terms in England two weeks ago, despite only joining the club when they were in the EFL Championship in January.
Kompany suggested that the new deal was a "correction" of the former Orlando Pirates player's salary, and stated that they very much think he has a bright future in the Premier League.
