Legendary French manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his desire to return to football and is hoping to take charge of a nation at the 2022 Fifa World Cup.

The former Arsenal boss, who won three Premier League titles and seven FA Cup trophies with the Gunners, has taken a sabbatical since leaving the London club last year but maintains a desire to take part in football's showpiece tournament.
The 69-year-old, who previously managed AS Monaco, is set to take up a post with FIFA as a technical director later this month, according to the Mirror, but has hinted that he could return to the pitch side ahead of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

"I could see myself working for a team," Wenger told beIN SPORTS.
"I must say I always wanted to go to the World Cup because I felt it's the job of a manager to be where the best football players in the world play football.
"Hopefully you will see me, touch wood, in Qatar in three years' time."

Wenger spent 22 years at Arsenal where he oversaw 1,235 matches, winning on 707 occasions and guiding his side to the famous 'Invinsibles' campaign in the 2003/04 season.
