After Africa's wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote, previously stated that he wants to buy a stake in Arsenal, another African billionaire has now revealed he wants to take over the Premier League giants.
Nigerian billionaire Orji Kalu has become the second Nigerian businessman to publicly declare his interest in acquiring a stake in the Gunners.
"As the pillar of sports in Africa, I am considering an investment in football. and I will buy 35% stake in Arsenal FC.
"Our target is to lift the Champions League and Premier League, and valuable investment as well.
"Doing what you love and loving it is where greatness lies. I need 35% of Arsenal to bring back trophies."
Kalu, who was a governor of Abia State in Nigeria between 1999 and 2007 and supported government-owned Enyimba FC financially, also explained how he would help the Nigerian giants if he succeeded in his wish to buy a stake in the Gunners.
"With Arsenal, we will make Enyimba great again with the strategic partnership we are packaging," he added.
"We shall turn it around to create a platform for more of our professional players seeking international exposure.
"A win-win outing for all parties."
Kalu was handed a 12-year jail sentence for fraud in December 2019, but this was overturned in May 2020.
