Player Ratings El Clasico - FC Barcelona

Player Ratings El Clasico - FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona beat Real Madrid 2-1 to go four points clear in La Liga on Sunday night, and here are Soccer Laduma's player ratings of the Catalan giants for the latest El Clasico.

Read: Player Ratings – Real Madrid

Claudio Bravo – 8

He saved what he could and wasn't at fault for Ronaldo's goal. Denied Ronaldo and Benzema when the game was still 1-1 and also saved Benzema's deflected shot towards the end.

Dani Alves – 7

Most of Real's attacks came through his side during the first half and he struggled at times. However, Alves had a much improved second half and assisted Luis Suarez's deciding goal.

Gerard Pique – 8

Massive performance by the Barcelona centre-back. Kept Benzema and Ronaldo quiet for most of the game and was even involved in a few attacking moves.

Jeremy Mathieu – 7

Scored his first Barcelona goal to give Barcelona the 1-0 lead, and overall a solid performance from the Frenchman.

Jordi Alba – 7

Dangerous when going forward and kept Gareth Bale out of the game for most of the 90 minutes.

Javier Mascherano – 6

Lost control of the game in last 20 minutes of first half and didn't impress through bad piece of play-acting.

Andres Iniesta – 6

Not the greatest game by the Spaniard but as always, impressive passing statistics.

Ivan Rakitic – 7

Looked dangerous in the first few minutes and was the most attacking player within Barcelona midfield.

Neymar – 5

Bottled a massive chance before Real's equaliser and missed two more opportunities in second half. Overall one of his weaker performances for Barcelona despite a few good runs.

Lionel Messi – 7

Hardly seen in the first half but pulled the strings in the second, where often only fouls could stop him. Assisted Barcelona's first goal.

Luis Suarez – 8

Scored the winner of the game and had a few threatening runs.

Sergio Busquets, Xavi and Rafinha – n/a

Came on too late to really have an impact.
