Lionel Messi Shares His Biggest Desire

Lionel Messi Shares His Biggest Desire

FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi has shared something very close to him and his national teammates' hearts.

"Messi Will Not Leave Barca"

Messi revealed that he would love to finally win a major trophy for his country and that is a desire shared by the rest of his national colleagues.

The forward has recently come off a fantastic season with Barcelona, but now he says it's time for him to lead his nation to Copa America success.

"We are here to once and for all win this title," he told Canchallena.

"This group deserves it for all that we have fought for. We played a great World Cup and that is something that should be considered. I would like at long last to win something with Argentina."

Messi also pointed out that it was important for the squad to criticise their own poor performance against Paraguay, but believes they have made the right steps to move on and win the Copa.

"Self-criticism is necessary," he added.

"We did it without going overboard, but simply pointing out what we had done well and what we had done badly. By talking together, we were trying to correct our mistakes. That was the idea, and it still is now that we are winning. Because there are still things to improve on.

"We talked among ourselves a lot. We got together and spoke about the things that we had to do better. We are a group that try to march onwards, that know each other well, that know what we have to do and what we want to achieve - which is nothing short of winning the title."

Furious Messi Refused Man Of The Match Award

Argentina are currently second in Group B, alongside Paraguay, but have Jamaica in their final game of the group stage.
