Copa America Preview: Argentina v Paraguay 13 June 2015

Copa America    Teams: Argentina v Paraguay    Date: 13 June 2015   Venue: Estadio La Portada de La Serena   Argentina begin their 2015 Copa America campaign with a clash against Paraguay on Sunday at the Estadio La Portada de La Serena.   Read: Mexico, Bolivia In Stalemate   The match is scheduled to get underway at 23h30. (South African time)   The Argentinians will be looking to win a record-equaling 15th Copa America crown.   La Albiceleste come into the tournament as favourites, as they boast one of the best attacks in the tournament on paper, namely Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Ange di Maria, Carlos Tevez and Gonzalo Higuain.   Argentina finished as runners-up in the when they hosted the tournament in 2011, while they last tasted Copa America success in 1993.   Gerardo Marinto's come into this tie on the back of three successive victories, including a 5-0 win over Honduras, where Aguero bagged a hat-trick and Di Maria netted a brace.   Paraguay will be looking to restore some national pride, after failing to qualify for the 2014 World Cup.   Los Guaraníes will be looking to former Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers striker, Roque Santa Cruz, to bang in the goals, he is the country's all time leading goal-scorer.   Ramon Diaz's side come into this opening group clash in some mix form, having only picked up one in their last five games in all competitions.   In head-to-head statistics, the two nations have on 103 occasions, with Argentine claiming 58 wins, while Paraguay have only won 15 matches.   Read: Messi vs Neymar - Who Will Destroy Who?
