Ronaldo extended his record as Europe's leading international goalscorers to 93 goals on Tuesday, when he netted four times in Portugal's Uefa European Championship qualifier over Lithuania.
The 34-year-old's haul saw him inch closer to the world's all-time leading scorer Ali Daei who netted an incredible 109 times for Iran during his international career.
Ronaldo, who turns 35 next year, is expected to surpass the Iranian's tally by the time he retires, and Daei has now spoken about the prospect of seeing his long-standing record broken.

"Records are for breaking," the 50-year-old told IRNA.
"I did it when it was my turn, and it will be someone else's turn to beat my record next. It's not a big issue."
The former Bayern Munich striker also revealed that he would not be upset to lose the record, particularly to a player who had achieved what Ronaldo has in the game.
"No, why should I be upset. Ronaldo is a great player with many honors in the world of football. He is on top form right now," Daei added.

Ronaldo's four goals against Lithuania also saw him break former Repuclic of Ireland striker Robbie Keane's record for the most goals scored by a single player in the qualification stages of the European Championship.
