With Borussia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho believed to have rejected a contract offer from Manchester United, the wages the Premier League giants were willing to pay him have now reportedly been revealed.
It was widely reported that the 20-year-old had agreed personal terms with the Red Devils, but a new report has suggested otherwise.
According to the Daily Mail, the England international was not satisfied with the contract United offered him, which included a weekly wage of £190 000 (R4.3 million).
On Monday, BVB sporting director Michael Zorc revealed that Sancho's deal in Germany had been improved last year to match his outstanding contribution to the side.
It is believed the Red Devils will return to Dortmund and their talented winger with another offer, despite BVB insisting the player will be in their squad for the coming campaign.
Sancho also caused a stir on Wednesday evening when he stated that he wants to be more of a leader at Dortmund, which many have taken as a hint that he is not interested in forcing a move to United.
It is claimed that the former Manchester City youth player would have been taking a pay cut if he accepted United's salary offer as he reportedly now earns £9 million (R2014 million) a year in the Bundesliga.
