Lewandowski netted Bayern's third goal in their 3-2 win over Paderborn to take his league tally to 10 strikes for the season, after just six appearances.

In doing so, the Poland international became the first player in Bundesliga history to reach double figures for goals scored after the first six match rounds, according the league's official website.

The record was previously jointly-held by Jupp Heynckes, Gerd Muller, Peter Meyer and Lothar Emmerich, who all scored nine goals after six matches.

Lewandowki's latest achievement comes a week after he netted his 200th goal for the Bavarian giants, becoming only the fourth player to reach the milestone for the club after Rainer Ohlhauser, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge and Muller.

The former Borussia Dortmund star has scored twice as many goals as any other Bundesliga player this season, with Paco Alcacer and Timo Werner his nearest competitors with five goals each.
