One of Bayern Munich's highest-paid players, who has previously been linked with Manchester United, has reportedly handed in a transfer request and wants to leave the club in January.

The Bundesliga champions may have lost their first league game of the 2019/20 campaign on the weekend, but it was one of the club's longest-serving members who stole the headlines.
According to Bild, Thomas Muller has asked to leave the Allianz Arena in January after seeing his game time decrease further following the arrival of Philippe Coutinho.
The Germany international has only started three of Bayern's past nine games, scoring once and assisting four further strikes.

He has not featured for the full 90 minutes in any of his 10 appearances this season, and has now reportedly expressed his frustration towards the club's leadership.
Bild has claimed that Muller – who was previously linked with United, while Inter Milan reportedly monitored his situation during the recent window – has asked the club to leave in January as a result.
The 30-year-old's contract with the Bavarians only expires in June 2021, and he is one of the top earners in Munich, reportedly receiving about €15 million (R250 million) per season.

Muller came through the club's youth academy and has made 495 appearances for Bayern, scoring an impressive 186 goals and setting up another 171 strikes.
