Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich have reportedly identified their top transfer target to succeed Robert Lewandowski.
Lewandowski has one year remaining on his current contract with the Bavarians and is reportedly looking for a new challenge from next season.
The 35-year-old remains at the peak at of his powers and finding a replacement will be tough, after the Polish striker bagged 41 goals in 21 Bundesliga appearances last season.
According to Sport1, Bayern have made Chelsea forward Timo Werner a top target for next season with Lewandowski looking to leave the club in 2022.
Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland has also been linked with the German champions, but they are likely to face heavy competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City.
Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann has already worked with Werner at RB Leipzig, where the Germany international registered 95 goals and 40 assists in 159 appearances.
The 25-year-old has had a tough time at Chelsea since leaving Leipzig in 2020, which saw the Blues make a move for reigning Serie A Player of the Season Romelu Lukaku in the recent transfer window.
