Despite Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool enjoying an almost perfect Premier League campaign so far this season, the Reds are heavily linked with a certain playmaker who is said to be valued at £85 million (R1.5 billion).
According to the Daily Express, Klopp is interested in signing Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Kai Havertz.
It has been suggested that Liverpool would have to fork out about £85 million to secure his signature, though, and fend off interest from the likes of Manchester United too.
Havertz's agent has reportedly already held talks with the Reds, news that might excite the club's loyal supporters, many of whom believe the team could do with a new creative midfielder.
Liverpool's last traditional No. 10 was Brazil international Philippe Coutinho, who left the club for Spanish giants FC Barcelona in January 2018.
Havertz, 20, broke through at Leverkusen in the 2016/17 season, and has represented the Bundesliga side on 126 occasions since.
Havertz is also a full international with Germany, and is likely to play a starring role for his country's 2020 UEFA European Championship side when the tournament gets under way in June.
