Jude Bellingham Linked With £80m Move

Jude Bellingham Linked With £80m Move

England and Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, 18, has been heavily linked with an £80 million (R1.5 billion) transfer.

According to the Daily Star, the teenage Bundesliga star is being eyed by Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who is reportedly looking to bring in another midfielder in the near future.

The 2018/19 UEFA Champions League winners have not replaced Georginio Wijnaldum since his exit from Anfield at the end of last season, with the Dutchman having joined Paris Saint-Germain since.

It is claimed that Liverpool could make an astonishing bid of £80 million for the 18-year-old, which, if successful, would make him the Reds' most expensive signing in history.

The 2019/20 Premier League champions, however, could face stiff competition for the former Birmingham City player's signature, with Manchester United also believed to be interested in his services.

Bellingham joined the German giants in 2020 from the second tier of English football, having made an impressive 44 senior appearances across all competitions for Birmingham's senior side.

The teenager remains the youngest player to play and score for the English club, who decided to retire his No. 22 jersey in recognition of his achievements and to inspire others after he made the move to the Bundesliga.

Since joining BVB in Germany's top flight, the eight-time England international has amassed 51 first-team appearances, contributing to 12 goals along the way.
