Prior to joining the Reds in 2015, Klopp enjoyed a successful spell with Borussia Dortmund, with whom he won two Bundesliga titles and reached the Champions League final in 2013, and it has now been revealed that the German club wanted him back.
In his new book titled REAL LOVE: A Life With BVB, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke revealed that he asked Klopp to leave Liverpool and return to his former club, although he knew the 52-year-old would turn him down.

"I knew that Jurgen would (decline), that he will fulfil his contract in Liverpool," Watzke wrote, as reported by Sky Sports.
"Jurgen has always fulfilled his contracts, but if you want to go new ways and we had to break new ground at BVB, then at least I had to ask Jurgen if he could possibly imagine that.
"I did not expect that at all, but I would not have forgiven myself for not asking him at that moment."

Klopp has overseen 221 matches since taking over the reins at Liverpool, winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup titles in the process.
