German Super Cup
Teams: Eintracht Frankfurt v Bayern Munich
Date:12 August 2018
Venue: Commerzbank-Arena
Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will be looking to get the new season underway with silverware when they take on Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Super Cup.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 20h00.
The German Super Cup is the curtain raiser to the Bundesliga campaign, which the league winners take on DFB Pokal champions.
The clash will also serve as a reunion for Bayern coach Niko Kovac, who lead Frankfurt to the DFB Pokal title last season, beating his current team in the final.
Bayern were quiet in the transfer market, having only brought in Leon Goretzka as the one major signing while Serge Gnabry could also make his debut for the club.
The Bavarians are the current champions of the Super Cup after they beat Borussia Dortmund 5-4 on penalties last season.
This will be Frankfurt's second appearance in the Super Cup, having only last appeared in the clash in 1988, where they lost 2-0 to Werder Bremen.
