Borussia Monchengladbach got back to winning ways in the Bundesliga after defeating Bochum 2-1 on Sunday evening.
The hosts came into the tie on the back of a 5-0 victory over Bayern Munich in the DFB Pokal earlier this week while Bochum had won their last two league encounters.
However, Gladbach raced into a two-goal lead thansk to first-half strikes from Alassane Pléa and Jonas Hofmann.
Danny Blum pulled a goal back for Bochum in the 85th minute, but Gladbach held on to secure maximum points.
Augsburg ended a run of four games without a win in the Bundesliga after thrashing Stuttgart 4-1 WWK Arena on Sunday afternoon.
Stuttgart got off to the perfect start as Chris Fuhrich opened the scoring after just seven minutes, but they were pegged back by Reece Oxford's equaliser in the 30th minute.
Jeffrey Gouweleeuw completed the turnaround for the home side five minutes after the halftime break with his first league goal of the season.
Florian Niederlechner added the third goal on 72 minutes before Alfred Finnbogason rounded off the scoring with nine minutes left on the clock.
The win moved Augsburg four points clear of the relegation zone, while Stuttgart find themselves in 13th spot after 10 rounds.
