Bundesliga Wrap: Bayern Munich Restore Six-Point Lead Over Borussia Dortmund

Bayern Munich restored their six-point lead at the top of the Bundesliga standings with a 4-1 drubbing of Hertha BSC.

The Bavarians were under pressure to secure maximum points after Borussia Dortmud reduced their gap at the top to three points on Saturday.

Corentin Tolisso and Thomas Muller put defending champions two goals up in the first half.

Leroy Sane and Serge Gnabry netted four minutes apart in the 75th and 79th minutes to the visitors out of sight before Jurgen Ekkelenkamp netted a consolation goal for the Berliners.

The Bavarian giants have now scored 18 goals in their last five matches, while Hertha are seeing themselves slip closer and closer to the relegation zone.

RB Leipzig moved up into the European spots on the Bundesliga standings with a 2-0 win over Wolfsburg on Sunday afternoon.

Leipzig have enjoyed some good since the turn of the year, having won four straight across all competitions while only conceding one goal in the process.

Willi Orban and Josko Gvardiol scored in the 76th and 84th minutes as the hosts left it late but got the job done in the end.

Leipzig are now in sixth position, while Wolves sit precariously above the relegation zone in 15th with all teams having played 20 matches.

Leipzig wil now turn their attention to next weekend's big clash against the defending champions.
