Koln continued to move away from the relegation zone after thrashing Freiburg 4-0 at the RheinEnergieStadion on Sunday afternoon.

Sebastiaan Bornauw opened the scoring for the home side in the 29th minute with his fourth league goal of the campagin.

John Cordoba doubled the advantage 10 minutes after the break before Kingsley Ehizibue and Ismail Jakobs got the third and fourth goals respectively in second-half stoppage time.

The victory moved Koln seven points clear of the drop zone, while Freiburg remain in eighth spot.

Wolsburg ended a run of four games without a win in the Bundesliga after defeating Paderborn 4-2 on Sunday evening.

It was an eventful first half as Ben Zolinski opened the scoring for the hosts before Robin Knoche and Daniel Ginczeki put the visitors back in front.

Paderborn were also reduced to 10 men in the first stanza when Gerrit Holtmann was shown a staight red card.

Ginczek added his second shortly after the break while Maximillian Arnold got Wolfsburg's fourth after Sebastian Vasiliadis bagged another consolation.
