Result: Eintracht Frankfurt 1-1 Borussia Dortmund
Date: 05 December 2020
Venue: Deutsche Bank Park
Borussia Dortmund dropped points for the second successive Bundesliga clash after being held to a 1-1 draw by Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday afternoon.
After losing to Koln last weekend, Dortmund were eager to get back on the winning trail but they had to take to the field with Erling Haaland, who has been ruled out till next year.
However, it was the home side who took the lead after just nine minutes courtesy of a second league goal of the season from Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada.
Dortmund looked to get themselves on level terms as the half went on, with Giovanni Reyna and Jadon Sancho going closest at the midway stage of the stanza.
With the visitors pushing for the equaliser, Frankfurt nearly found a second goal just before the break but Aymen Barkok failed to find the back of the net from close range.
Dortmund eventually got back on level terms in the 59th minute, with Reyna finding the top corner with an impressive finish from the left side of the box.
The visitors threw on the highly-rated Jude Bellingham for Julian Brandt for the final 15 minutes, as they looked to bag a late winning goal.
However, Dortmund were unable to find a way past the Frankfurt defence in the closing stages of the second and now miss the chance to move second on the table.
