Venue: Allianz Arena

Bayern coach Julian Nagelsmann made two changes from the draw with Augsburg before the break, as Benjamin Pavard and Marcel Sabitzer coming in for Leon Goretzka and Noussair Mazraoui.

The hosts got off to a fine start as the in-form Leroy Sane opened the scoring after just three minutes after getting on the end of a cross from Jamal Musiala before finding the bottom corner.

The lead was doubled in the 17th minute as Musiala added his name to the scoresheet after combining with Thomas Muller before drilling the ball beyond Lukas Hradecky.

Leverkusen managed to see a bit of the ball after the 20-minute mark but had to wait until 34 minutes for a serious shot at goal as Moussa Diaby saw his strike from the edge of the box tipped over the bar by Manuel Neuer.

Five minutes later, the home side extended their lead as Mane ended his four-game drought in the league as Musiala turned provider to pick out the Senegalese, who sent low shot past Hradecky.

The Bavarians carried that momentum into the second half and had the ball in the back of the net on 56 minutes when Mane fired home, but the celebrations were cut short after the goal was ruled offside by the Video Assistant Referee.

Leverkusen responded with a double change for the final 30 minutes as Hudson-Odoi and Patrick Schick made way for Amine Adli and Sardar Azmoun.

Muller completed the rout in the 86th minute as a poor pass from the Leverkusen shot-stopper was intercepted by the veteran attacker, who slotted into an empty net for his second goal of the season.
