Yanga will be a part of Africa's premier club competition once again this season after they successfully navigated the preliminary round phase of the tournament.

The east African giants thwarted Vital'O and CBE SA, and are now among the 16 teams that will be involved in the group stage draw come 7 October.

The Jangwani Street giants have been placed in Pot 2, alongside Algerian side CR Belouizdad, Egypt's Pyramids FC and Moroccan champions Raja Club Athletic for the draw.

This means they will be pitted against a continental powerhouse from Pot 1, which includes Sundowns, Ahly, Esperance de Tunis and TP Mazembe.

However, Gamondi is not fazed by the challenge that any of Yanga's potential opponents will bring, claiming they do not fear any team in Africa.

"We have strengthened our squad and are prepared to deliver the best results against any opponents. Yanga are a big club, and we must face the so-called giants head on. We respect them, but we do not fear them," the Argentine said, as per The Citizen.

Last season, the Tanzanian side faced the Red Devils in the group stage, and Masandawana in the quarter-finals, and the Olavarria native has urged fans to remember those performances as they prepare to embark on another Champions League journey.

"Our fans should remember that we have already competed against these giants and managed to hold our ground. We are ready for any challenge, as we are one of the biggest clubs on the continent," Gamondi added.
