The Bloemfontein-born star has been persistently linked with a permanent switch to the record Moroccan champions.

The 32-year-old originally joined the Red Castle midway through the 2024/25 campaign on loan and made an immediate impact, helping the club secure a third-place league finish and a return to continental competition.

His strong form in North Africa extended into Wydad’s FIFA Club World Cup campaign, where he proved to be a key figure.

The Bafana Bafana international showcased his quality on the global stage, featuring against Manchester City, Juventus and Al Ain, and notably scored against the Italian giants. As a result, the three-time CAF Champions League winners are believed to be eager to make Lorch’s stay in Casablanca permanent.

However, according to Le Site Info, the move has stalled due to financial hurdles. Mamelodi Sundowns are reportedly demanding a high transfer fee, while the player's personal terms are also proving challenging, complicating negotiations.
