Following their shock exit from the CAF Champions League at the hands of Vipers SC, TP Mazembe president Moise Katumbi has decided to sack the club's head coach and a number of its executives in light of the disappointment.
'Toure Is The Best Player I Ever Played With'
The Congolese giants were victims of a massive upset in their most recent encounter with Ugandan side Vipers this past weekend, when they were eliminated in the second preliminary stage of the Champions League.
TP Mazembe lost at home 4-2 on penalties to the visitors after both legs ended 0-0.
Vipers will now compete in African football's premier club competition for the first time in their history, while their Congolese counterparts have been relegated to the CAF Confederation Cup.
The president of the Ravens, Katumbi, has subsequently taken drastic action by firing every member of the football club's executive committee, effective immediately, with the exception of secretary Hilaire Kabila.
French head coach Franck Dumas has also been sacked after the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League proper, as per an official statement released by the club.
This is the second season in a row Mazembe have failed to qualify for the competition's group stages, having been knocked out by Benni McCarthy's AmaZulu at the same stage in the previous campaign campaign.
