Al Ahly coach Marcel Koller showered some special praise on his players after being crowned Egyptian Premier League champions.
The Red Devils struck late in the second half to secure a 1-0 win over Smouha on Thursday, which officially secured the league title.
It was back-to-back league titles for Al Ahly and a record-extending 44th overall.

"We achieved many records, and we entered the Smouha match to win, not just draw," Koller said, as per Kooora.
"We found it very difficult throughout the season to give the players a break in light of the pressure of the matches and playing in more than one tournament.
"The pressure of the matches caused the players' physical condition to decline, especially since the season was very stressful, and there was no time to rest."
"The matches varied between the Egyptian League, the African Champions League and the Club World Cup, and the fans always demand that the players win, so it was natural for everyone to feel great physical."

There are still three league games left for the Red Devils, while the CAF Champions League second preliminary round begins in September, where they will face either Al Merreikh Juba or Gor Mahia.
Koller's charges also broke a 20-year record by winning 18 games in a row, but that record has now been extended to 19 matches following Thursday's win.
