A former FC Barcelona striker could finally make his international debut for one of Africa's biggest countries after being allowed to switch his nationality by FIFA.

Munir El Haddadi received a clearance from FIFA in January after years of attempting to represent the birth country of his father.
The Sevilla winger was denied a chance to represent Morocco for long after making a substitute appearance for Spain – the country of his birth – in 2014.
A recent change of FIFA's eligibility requirements, though, played into Munir's favour with the football mother body now allowing players with three or less appearances in qualifiers before the age of 21 to switch their allegiance.

As a consequence, Munir is now in line to finally represent the North African giants in their final two Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Mauritania and Burundi – if COVID-19 restrictions allow for him to travel to Africa and back without facing the risk of going into a 10-day quarantine upon his return.
