BBC Cut 3 Names From African Footballer Of The Year Shortlist

The initial five nominees were Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Riyad Mahrez, Andre Ayew, Sadio Mane and Yaya Toure.
However, the BBC have now announced that Aubameyang, Toure and Ayew have been cut from the list and the award will now be contested by Mane and Mahrez.
Toure along with Nwankwo Kanu and Jay-Jay Okocha are the only players to have won the award twice.
The winner for the prestigious award will be announced on Monday evening at 19h30 (South African time) on BBC, channel 120 on DSTV for South African viewers.
