Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) spokesperson Moez Mestiri told Tunis Afrique Presse that they are currently reviewing bids submitted by VAR providers.
Reports claim that companies from Italy, England, and Portugal are fighting it out to provide the service for the Algerian top-flight.
Morocco and Egypt already use VAR while CAF make use of the technology in the knockout stage of both the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
The report adds that VAR could be introduced in Tunisian football in September, before matchday five in Ligue 1.
