The South African winger will be entering the final year of his contract with the Club of the Century once the 2023/24 campaign comes to an end.
After playing a big part in Ahly's success last season, in which they won a plethora of trophies, including the CAF Champions League, head coach Marcel Koller is said to be a massive advocate for giving the 29-year-old an extension.
It is said that the record Egyptian champions have already offered him a new deal, but it seems that it is not to the liking of the attacker and his representatives, and the two parties are actively working towards a resolution.
According to Mobtada, the Witbank native wants to see his salary increase up to $1 million (R18.9 million) and it is this which is causing the delay. The same report claims that if the two parties are not able to reach an agreement over a new deal, the north African outfit will look to sell him.
