After "that run" against QPR, I don't think I was alone in being impressed by the sheer pace that Angel Di Maria has at his disposal.
Di Maria, who was delighted with his Old Trafford debut, was measured to have run at a pace of 32.3 km/h and, yes, that is lighting fast.
However, when Wayne Rooney outpaced Rio Ferdinand in the game, he was actually recorded to have been faster than Di Maria, hitting a speed of 32.7 km/h. So, even if Di Maria is incredibly quick, the English forward, who has been around for over a decade now, seems to be faster, even though we haven't realised it.
In terms of players with the best endurance, Ander Herrera was our best player on the day in this category, having covered 12.2km over the course of the day, followed by Daley Blind, who ran a total of 11.9km.
Antonio Valencia (32.2km/h), Jonny Evans (32.2km/h) and Rafael (31.3km/h) made up the rest of our top five speedsters, while Marcos Rojo (11.4km), Wayne Rooney (11.1km) and Robin van Persie (10.8km) made up the rest of our top five travellers.
I find it very interesting that our players are covering so much ground on the pitch and at such great pace, because it shows that, if anything, Louis Van Gaal has managed to achieve a strong work ethic within the team, and it's clear, by looking at the result, that it paid off.
Would you believe that Rooeny is faster the Di Maria?
