With eight games to go in the Absa Premiership, I feel slightly edgy as the run in period of the league approaches. Also, what contributes to the uncertainties is the fact that we don’t look like the outfit we were in the first half of the season.
However, I do feel there are three players in this current squad who could guide us en route to becoming league champions.
Shabba is not slowing down in the latter stages of his career as he continues to be the golden boy for Amakhosi. Not only will his experience be vital in the title run-in, but his red-hot form is something the whole team will benefit from.
Tower is central to everything associated with Chiefs these days as he has slowly become one of the country’s finest defenders. Mathoho’s presence alone puts many of his teammates at ease when on the back foot and Amakhosi can rely on Tower to keep watch until the end.
‘Salt and Vinegar’ has long been touted as an unsung hero at Amakhosi as his hard worked and grit usually go unnoticed in the middle of the park. Katsande has once again shown why he is the best hard man in the league, and is one of the most important members in this current Chiefs outfit.
What other Amakhosi stars do you think can guide the club to the title?
