Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to Raja Casablanca in their first leg first round match of the CAF Champions’ league.
This was the second successive loss for Amakhosi after losing 1-0 to Maritzburg United in the midweek league matches, which is very worrying to us Chiefs faithful.
The three that impressed:
Siphiwe Tshabalala: the attacking midfield was very dominant going forward and combined very well with his teammates. Like always he rose to the occasion when he is needed and was Chiefs best player on the night. he was unlucky to be on the losing side.
Tsepo Masilela: the full back was very lively down the left flank adding numbers when his team was in attack. Masilela also did his defending duties very well.
Reneilwe Letsholonyane: the dreadlocked midfielder was among Chiefs best players on the night alongside Tshabalala. He was always in the thick of things as Chiefs searched for an equalizer in the second half, however it was not to be as Amakhosi lost the match after conceding an early goal.
The three that disappointed:
Mandla Masango: despite having a fair performance, Chiefs supporters are surely angry with their winger after he squandered a number of chances to bring back his team into the game with an equalizing goal.
Bernard Parker: once one of the most feared forwards in South Africa. Parker is currently going through a drought of goals and his performance was disappointing as Chiefs lost to the Moroccan side in the first leg match of the first round.
Siphelele Mthembu: he was brought on while Chiefs were desperate for a goal but disappointed Amakhosi faithful after missing the easiest chances of the night after he found himself with just the goalkeeper to beat towards the end of the match.
