In a continuation of this feature, whereby the Fan Park crew analysed the older players of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns and how they have progressed this season, the crew will now shift their attention to the Sea Robbers.
We look and see how their group of 30 and overs are doing so far this season.
Rooi Mahamutsa – 33
The hard tackling centre-back has been a permanent fixture in the Bucs defence for quite some time now and, although he may be off the pace somewhat, there is no denying that his level of grit and determination has not diminished.
Siyabonga Sangweni – 33
Like Mahamutsa, Sangweni has always been an integral member of the Bucs set-up and has even been given the captain's armband on a few occasions this season in the absence of Lucky Lekgwathi.
Lucky Lekgwathi -38
Many adoring fans are posing the question, “when will Lekgwathi retire?”. At the age of 38, Lekgwathi has seen it all and has really been around the block as it were. Although he may be nearing retirement, Lekgwathi’s influence on the team cannot be overlooked.
Lennox Bacela - 31
Bacela has the task of competing with fellow striker Kermit Erasmus and Lehlohonolo Majoro for a spot in the Bucs starting line-up. Majoro and Erasmus may be in the form of their lives, however, one has to admire the level patience portrayed by Bacela as he waits for his turn to play.
Has the older players in the team impressed you this season?
