In the build up to another exciting weekend of Premier League football, we take a look back at five of the players to score the most hat-tricks in the history of the competition.
Wayne Rooney
The Manchester United captain has been around for quite some time now and the former Everton striker has managed to score six hat-tricks, which makes him the fifth highest hat-trick scorer in Premier League history.
Michael Owen
In his heydays, Owen was a sight to behold and even though his move to Real Madrid never worked out, the former Liverpool striker scored eight hat-tricks in his Premier League career. It must be asked, how many would he have scored without all his injury problems?
Thierry Henry
What would a list about scoring goals be without the kind, Thierry Henry? His incredible spell at Arsenal, which saw him terrorize Premier League defences for years, included eight incredible hat-tricks and helps him to third place on our list
Robbie Fowler
Our runner-up was the face of Liverpool during the 90s, and Fowler was a goal scorer of note. He also holds the record for the fastest Premier League hat-trick and managed nine in his career.
Alan Shearer
The man to top our list is none other than the former Blackburn and Newcastle striker, Alan Shearer. He scored a ridiculous 260 goals in his career and nobody has come close to the record even though he retired more than a decade ago. He scored 11 hat-tricks in his incredible career.
These guys are all legends in their own right, and the number of times that they walked away with the match ball is evidence of that.
Which player do you think was the best striker on our list?
