Top 5 Most Expensive Houses of Footballers

Yesterday, we showed you what some of the most expensive houses owned by footballers look like. Today, we reveal the top five.

There are quite a few stunning homes here that would be the envy of anybody around the world. So without further ado, here are the top five most expensive houses:

5. Frank Lampard - R77,222,250

The English midfielder and Chelsea legend (now playing for Manchester City) owns a two story home which is built over 1811 square meters. It has nine bedrooms, twelve bathrooms, a swimming pool, and a boat dock. Sitting on more than three acres of land, this home includes a beautiful guest house, tennis court, swimming pool, putting green, and a long private driveway.

4. John Terry - R 82,738,125

The current Chelsea captain's home has a 34 seat home cinema and, reportedly, an underground aquarium. It is a 10 bedroom home, but is still in the process of development. Terry hired reputable property giants, Goldenhill, to complete construction on his mammoth property and the market value will only go up, once it is finished.

3. Didier Drogba -R159,960,375

The number three spot on our list belongs to another Chelsea player, in the form of Ivory Coast international, Didier Drogba. The powerful striker completed construction on his 800 square meter plot of land in 2007 and his grand mansion boasts seven luxurious bedrooms, eight bathrooms, a trophy room and a number of smaller bedrooms for Drogba's children.

2. Wayne Rooney - R193,971,260

The English and Manchester United captain has a massive house in Cheshire, in the same neighbourhood as Robin van Persie and Rio Ferdinand. Approximately R14,585,700 was spent on preparing the building development alone, with the plot of land costing Rooney R165,646,100. This place is massive and actually has two separate houses built over the vast expanse of land.

1. David Beckham - R220,635,000

The now retired English icon was able to spend the incredible amount of money that he earned over his 20 years in football to buy the most extraordinary home you will ever lay eyes on… It is a Georgian-style manor, named "Beckingham Palace", located in the heart of London, which he bought in 1999, after marrying his pop-star wife, Victoria.

Which of these houses do you think is the best?
