Deputy Champions
This title was handed to the Buccaneers after they landed up finishing as runners up on four consecutive occasions in a cup final. They made five finals in a row, but only managed to win one piece of silverware, therefore, handing them the name 'Deputy Champions'.
PSL – Pretoria Soccer League
South Africa's Football Association is known as the PSL - Premier Soccer League – but the fans changed it to Pretoria Soccer League after the two Tshwane teams, Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United, dominated the football scene. A total of five league titles were shared between them.

As a result, the football fans landed up calling them '67 Players FC' to make a mockery of 'Signclowns' (another name the fans came up with0.
Bafunny Bafunny
This was an embarrassing one on Bafana's part. After having thought that they had qualified for the 2012 African Cup of Nations following their 0-0 draw to Sierra Leone, the South African squad burst out in song and dance to celebrate, only to embarrassingly find out that was not the case. They were then dubbed the embarrassing nickname 'Bafunny Bafunny'.
