What's the story?
As mentioned, Downs became the talk of social media when their corner flag incident against Siwelele went viral online. During the league match, Downs were leading on the night with a couple of minutes left on the clock.
Corner Flag Drama
The Brazilians were awarded a corner as Gaston Sirino walked over to the flag but was subsequently booked for time-wasting. Sibusiso Vilakazi then took over from the Uruguayan and was booked for the same offence.
Hlompho Kekana then switched with the attacking midfielder and also went in the book. Mosa Lebusa was then summoned to the corner flag as he collected his yellow card for time-wasting thereafter.
Going Viral
Reports in the media suggested that the club looked to get the above-mentioned players suspended for their following Nedbank Cup fixture versus VUT, as they were all on three yellow cards at the time.
That being said, the video has now gone viral yet again, this time surfacing on the popular 'Football Sh**housery' page on Twitter, as fans reacted to the clip in the comments section.
