Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly appointed Hlompho Kekana as the club's new captain, seeing him take over from Ramahlwe Mphahlele. But who were the best skippers to sport the armband at the club?
The Brazilians were in need of a new skipper after "Rama" left the club as a free agent to join Kaizer Chiefs, and there were several players who put their hand up for the position.
In the interim, Thabo Nthethe sported the armband during the CAF Champions League fixtures, and he was tipped to be named the club's leader for the season ahead.
The honour has since been bestowed upon Kekana, who has shown great leadership over the years, and he forms a long list of previous captains at Downs.
