Said to have got the ink in March, Sterling has now explained the meaning of his tattoo via an Instagram Story, stating that it is a tribute to his late father.
The former Liverpool player said that the gun has a "deeper" meaning as he made a promise to himself to never touch a gun after his father was gunned down when he was just two years old.
