The story
Natal Rich Boyz star, Somila Ntsundwana pulled on the heartstrings of his Instagram followers after sharing footage of his kind gesture to someone he regards as a maternal figure.
The burly Motherwell-born forward started his career at the now defunct Bidvest Wits, having entered the club's youth ranks in 2015 after finishing high school.
After a short stint in the senior team, Ballo joined AmaZulu in 2017 and was loaned out to Royal Eagles in 2019 before Usuthu allowed him to join Richards Bay in 2021.
"2015 was a year for new beginning's for me in a way that it was my first time staying away from my family and moving to another province but this lovely woman whom I call my mom today helped me settle very well in JHB," wrote the 28-year-old on Instagram.
"While I was still at Wits, [they] made sure she took care of us the academy boys, especially me. Whenever I was hungry or needed anything, she always said to me her door is always open, I can never starve when she's around.
"Ten years later I remembered her words and I told myself one day, I will come and say thank you to her for everything she has done for me. It might not seem as a big effort, but it's something to show as token of appreciation and she loved it. I love you Mamzo and you will always have a special place in my heart," wrote Ballo in a heartwarming post.
The likes of Kaizer Chiefs' Edmilson Dove, George Matlou, SuperSports' Thulani Hlatshwayo, Cape Town City's Fortune Makaringe and Mamelodi Sundowns' Aubrey Modiba all gave props to Ballo for his kind efforts.
